Sinton discusses his family background and ties to the San Francisco Jewish community; Navy service, WWII; fund-raising in
the Jewish community, beginning in 1939; board member, San Francisco Jewish Community Center, 1950, president, 1954-1956;
co-chairman, Jewish National Welfare Fund campaign, 1949; president, Jewish Welfare Federation, 1967-1968; merger of Jewish
National Welfare Federation (now Jewish Community Federation), 1955; thoughts on the Holocaust, on Israel, family attitudes
about Jewishness, the importance of personal civic improvement, and on board memberships.
